KGM New Zealand partners with iconic kiwi band ZED
If song names like ‘Renegade Fighter’, 'Hard to Find Her' and ‘Glorafilia’ sound familiar to you, you’ll no doubt already know the Kiwi music icons from the band ZED, who are now also KGM New Zealand’s first brand ambassadors.
Following on from the launch of the all-new KGM TORRES mid-sized SUV in early 2024, KGM New Zealand and ZED joined forces in an exciting collaboration for both parties.
KGM and ZED are both embarking on a fresh new chapter, forging a dynamic synergy that connects the automotive brand with the iconic band. As part of this pivotal reset, ZED is set to release their first album in 20 years, marking a significant return to music.
An essential part of the soundtrack to Kiwi’s lives since their first single in 1997, ZED have hit 2024 steadily releasing singles in the lead up to their new album, which includes ‘Future You,’ the song that also appears in KGM's first TV commercial.
Meanwhile KGM are on a re-branding journey from SsangYong to KGM which reflects the new global ownership under KG Mobility.
The partnership with ZED was inspired by Hallyu, otherwise known as the Korean wave phenomenon. Music plays a huge part in connecting people and driving popular culture in Korea, as it has also done for many years in New Zealand.
Together KGM and ZED will embrace the nation’s love for homegrown music working together to support each other’s future endeavours.
